Custom Trivia Board
Paste your own categories and questions to build a pub-quiz-style trivia board for game night, with value tiles, a surprise double round, and team scoring. Save your board to reuse it later. Works offline.
Built by the AbraCalc team
How to play
- Type each team's name, one per line.
- Paste your categories starting with # and questions as 'question | answer' lines below each.
- Optionally turn on the wrong-answer steal house rule, then tap Build the board.
- Tap a tile to reveal the question, award or deduct points, and save the board to a file when you're done.
Custom Trivia Board turns your own questions into a full pub-quiz night in one paste. Write categories starting with a # and list each question as "question | answer" underneath, add your team names, and the board builds itself with point values from 100 to 500 plus one hidden double round tile for a late-game swing. Flip on the wrong-answer steal house rule if your group likes a chance for other teams to snatch half the points, then save your finished board to a text file so next game night takes ten seconds to set up instead of ten minutes. Everything runs offline in the browser, so it works at the kitchen table with no accounts, no uploads, and no signal required.
Frequently asked questions
- How is this different from the classroom Quiz Show Board?
- It reuses the same category-and-tile engine but is tuned for party hosts: a wrong-answer steal house rule, warmer party copy, and a save/load-to-file option so you can reuse a board across game nights without retyping it.
- Can I save my board and use it again next time?
- Yes. Tap Save board to file to download your categories and questions as a plain text file, then use Load board from file before your next game to paste it right back in.
- What does the steal house rule actually do?
- When it's checked, each team gets a 'steal' button worth half the tile's value in the question overlay, letting another team grab partial credit if the original team answers wrong.
