About AbraCalc
AbraCalc is a free, privacy-first library of 1748 calculators, converters, generators and developer tools that run entirely in your browser. No signup, no paywall, and no data ever leaves your device.
Why AbraCalc exists
Most online calculators are slow, cluttered with trackers, and thin on explanation — you get a number with no way to check it. We built AbraCalc to be the opposite: every tool loads instantly as a self-contained static page, computes locally so your inputs stay private, and shows the formula, a worked example and the sources behind the result so you can trust and verify it.
What makes it different
- Private by design. Calculations happen in your browser. We don't see, store or transmit what you type.
- Fast. Each tool is pre-rendered to static HTML with no framework and no blocking scripts.
- Verifiable. Every page shows its formula, a worked example, key terms, common mistakes and cited references.
- Tested. Nothing ships until it passes an automated three-stage gate (see our Methodology).
Who builds it
AbraCalc is built and maintained by the AbraCalc Editorial Team, an independent group of engineers and writers. Methods are derived from primary sources and reviewed before publication. We take no payment for placement or ranking within the site.
Not the Commodore ‘Abracalc’
AbraCalc.com is a modern web application and is not related to “Abracalc,” a spreadsheet program released for Commodore home computers in the 1980s. This site is a current, independent project at the abracalc.com domain.
