Story Chain Starter kicks off a group storytelling game with a random opening line pulled from a built-in bank of quirky scenarios, then hands control to your group one sentence at a time. Tap New Story for a fresh opener, pass the device to the next player, and have them type the next line before tapping Add to Story — the whole tale builds visibly on screen so everyone can see how it's grown. Whenever the story needs a jolt, tap Plot Twist to drop in a random wildcard line, shown in a different color so it stands out from what players wrote themselves. There's no player limit or turn timer built in, so groups of any size can pass the screen at whatever pace feels right, and New Story clears everything to start over from scratch.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a limit to how many players can join?
- No, any number of players can take turns — just pass the screen around the group in whatever order you like, since the tool doesn't track individual player identities.
- What does the Plot Twist button actually do?
- It inserts one random wildcard sentence from a built-in bank of twists, shown in a highlighted color in the story so everyone can see it was a curveball rather than something a player wrote.
- Can we save our finished story?
- Not automatically — nothing is saved between visits, so if you want to keep your story, copy or photograph it from the screen before tapping New Story.
