How to play

  1. Pick one of the built-in stories from the story picker.
  2. Answer each prompt with the part of speech it asks for, one blank at a time.
  3. When all blanks are filled, the finished story reveals itself with your words highlighted.
  4. Use Read aloud for a paced word-by-word reveal, or Print story for a paper copy.

Choose one of the built-in stories, then answer a series of one-at-a-time prompts asking for a name, a number, an adjective, a verb ending in -ing, and other parts of speech — no template writing required. Each prompt shows a running count and a progress bar so everyone knows how many blanks are left. Once the last blank is filled, the finished story reveals itself, with every word you supplied highlighted so it's easy to spot what changed. A read-aloud mode paces the reveal word by word for a group read, and a print button turns the finished story into a paper page for take-home copies. Every word typed in stays on your own screen and is never uploaded anywhere, and the tool works completely offline.

Frequently asked questions

Can I skip a blank or leave it empty?
No, each prompt needs a word before you can move to the next one; leaving it empty shakes the input as a gentle reminder, and the story only reveals once every blank has an answer.
Is anything I type saved or sent anywhere?
No. Every word you type stays in your browser tab for this session only, nothing is uploaded, and the tool works with no internet connection at all.
What does read-aloud mode actually do?
It takes the finished story and reveals it one word at a time at a steady pace, which makes it easier for a group to follow along together instead of everyone reading the wall of text at their own speed.
