How to play
- Paste your full class roster, one name per line, and set how many people you want per group.
- Tap Make Groups to split everyone into groups and randomly assign Leader, Scribe, Timekeeper and Presenter within each.
- Tap Reshuffle on any single group card to re-roll just that group's roles without disturbing the others.
- Tap Reshuffle All to re-roll every group at once, or New Roster to start over with a different class list.
Paste your roster, choose how many students go in each group, and tap Make Groups to split the class and hand out roles at random. Every group gets a Leader, Scribe, Timekeeper and Presenter drawn from a fair shuffle, so nobody can claim the teacher played favorites and nobody gets stuck being the scribe every single time. Groups larger than four just add Team Member slots for the rest, so the roles never run out no matter how big your class is. If one group wants a re-roll — say a student was absent — tap Reshuffle on just that card and the rest of the room stays untouched.
Frequently asked questions
- What happens if a group has more than four students?
- The first four members get Leader, Scribe, Timekeeper and Presenter, and any extra students in that group are labeled Team Member so every group still functions with a full role assignment.
- Can I reshuffle just one group without resetting everyone else?
- Yes. Each group card has its own Reshuffle button that re-rolls only that group's role order — the other groups and their assignments stay exactly as they were.
- Does the tool remember scores or save my roster between visits?
- No. Group Role Cards works entirely offline in the browser tab with no storage, so your roster and groupings reset when you load a new page — copy your roster text somewhere safe if you'll reuse it.
