Runs the full think, pair, and share routine on its own: a silent thinking timer, a paired discussion timer with partners assigned for you, then a share cue. Works offline.

How to play
- Paste your class roster into the text box, one name per line.
- Set how many seconds you want for Think, Pair, and Share.
- Press Start Routine — the screen goes full screen and the Think timer begins automatically.
- Let it run: pairs are shuffled and shown automatically when the Pair phase starts, and Share begins on its own when Pair time runs out.
Think-pair-share is one of the most reliable discussion routines in any classroom, but running it by hand means watching a clock and shouting out partners while also managing the room. This tool does the watching for you. Paste in your class roster, set how long each phase should last, and press Start Routine: the screen shows a huge phase name and countdown for silent thinking, then automatically shuffles the roster into random pairs and switches to the paired-discussion timer, then moves into a final share cue when time is up. Every phase transition happens on its own, with a distinct tone so the room knows something changed without anyone checking a phone. When the routine finishes, a quick celebration marks the end so students know discussion time is over.
Frequently asked questions
- How are the pairs chosen?
- Names from your roster are shuffled randomly using the same fair-shuffle engine used across AbraCalc tools, so pairings are different every time you run the routine and no name is skipped or repeated.
- What happens if my class has an odd number of students?
- One group becomes a trio instead of a pair so that every student is included exactly once — nobody is left without a partner.
- Can I pause the routine if a phase needs more time?
- Yes. While in full screen there is a Pause button that stops the current phase's countdown; tap it again (it becomes Resume) to pick up exactly where you left off.
