Formula
Score (%) = (Correct Answers ÷ Total Questions) × 100
Letter grade thresholds: A ≥ 90%, B ≥ 80%, C ≥ 70%, D ≥ 60%, F < 60%
How it works
This calculator divides the number of correct answers by the total number of questions, then multiplies by 100 to produce a percentage score. The percentage is mapped to a letter grade using the standard US academic scale (A/B/C/D/F). Results assume all questions carry equal weight; it does not account for partial credit or bonus questions.
Worked example
Worked example
- Correct answers = 42, Total questions = 50.
- Score (%) = (42 ÷ 50) × 100 = 84%.
- 84% falls in the range 80–89%, which maps to a letter grade of B.
Score: 84% — Letter Grade: B
