Ring Runner
Steer your flyer through moving rings to score combos. Miss a ring and your combo resets!
How to play
- Hold ▲ Up or ▼ Down (or the arrow keys) to move your flyer vertically.
- Aim to pass through the middle of each moving yellow ring.
- Consecutive clean passes build a combo that multiplies your score.
- Missing a ring resets your combo; missing five rings ends the game.
- Rings drift and the scroll quickens over time — stay smooth.
Hold ▲/▼ or the up/down arrows to raise and lower your flyer. Pass through the center of each moving yellow ring to build a scoring combo — missing five rings ends the game.
How it works
Ring Runner puts you in control of a flying craft navigating through a sequence of floating rings. Your craft moves forward automatically; you steer up and down (or in all directions in some versions) to align with each ring's opening as it approaches. Flying through a ring adds to your combo counter and scores points.
Missing a ring does not end the game but resets your combo multiplier to zero, which significantly lowers your total score. Some rings may be tilted or moving, requiring extra anticipation to pass through the center.
Ring Runner is a smooth, flow-based game. The best scores come from consistent ring hits rather than erratic maneuvers to catch rings at the last moment.
Worked example
Building a 10-ring combo
- Begin the run and establish a neutral center position for the craft.
- Focus on the next ring's position as soon as the current one is passed.
- Steer smoothly toward the center of the approaching ring without overshooting.
- Pass through the ring cleanly and immediately locate the next one.
- Maintain smooth inputs -- small adjustments preserve the craft's stable trajectory for longer combos.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Making large steering adjustments that cause the craft to swing past the ring center.
- Watching the current ring so intently that the next ring's position is not established before passing through.
- Trying to correct a missed ring approach at the last second, which usually results in clipping the edge rather than the center.
