How it works
Dodge Blitz is a survival game where objects fall from the top of the screen and you must move your character left and right to avoid them. The longer you survive, the faster and more numerous the objects become, making later moments feel like a true blitz.
Your character's position is controlled by mouse movement, arrow keys, or touch dragging depending on the device. The game measures survival time as your score, so every additional second you stay alive is an achievement.
Dodge Blitz is a focused reflex trainer. Short sessions (under two minutes) are typical, making it ideal for a quick mental reset during a longer work session.
Worked example
Surviving past 30 seconds
- Keep your character near the center at game start to have room to dodge in either direction.
- Move smoothly rather than snapping to extremes -- small adjustments cover most threats.
- When multiple objects fall at once, identify the one closest to your current position and dodge that first.
- Avoid staying at the far edges since that removes one direction of escape.
- Watch for patterns in object spawn positions and anticipate gaps.
A 30-second survival run, beating the beginner benchmark.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Over-committing to a direction and painting yourself into a corner with no room to escape an incoming cluster.
- Focusing on a single object while a second one falls directly toward the character's new position.
- Moving the character to the very edge of the screen and losing half the available dodge space.
Key terms
- Spawn rate
- The frequency at which new falling objects appear; increases as the game progresses.
- Hitbox
- The invisible collision area around both the character and falling objects; a hit is registered when these overlap.
- Survival time
- The primary score metric -- the total number of seconds the player avoids all objects.
