How to play

  1. Have a student look outside and click the weather icon that matches today.
  2. Set today's temperature using the number field, and optionally type a custom date label.
  3. Read the automatic coat suggestion, which reacts to both the temperature and the chosen condition.
  4. Tap Wall Display for a full-screen version the whole class can see during morning meeting.

Instead of pulling live weather from the internet, this tool puts the class in charge: someone looks out the window, picks the matching icon from Sunny through Snowy, and dials in today's temperature, and a big morning-meeting slide displays it all together with the date and an automatic coat-or-no-coat suggestion. It's built this way on purpose, because a fully offline tool can't make outside network calls, so instead of faking a forecast it turns the daily weather check into a genuine classroom routine kids do themselves during calendar time. Switch to Wall Display for a full-screen version readable from every seat, and use the date field to add your own label or leave it blank for today's date automatically. Nothing is fetched, saved, or sent anywhere, so it works the same with or without a connection.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't this tool pull real weather automatically?
This tool works fully offline with no internet access at all, so it cannot make a live weather API call; instead it reframes the daily weather check as a hands-on classroom routine where a student observes conditions and enters them, which keeps calendar time interactive rather than passive.
How does the coat suggestion work?
It's a simple, transparent rule based on the temperature you enter and the condition you pick: cold temperatures or snow always suggest a coat, mild-cool temperatures or rain and wind suggest a light layer, and warm clear days suggest no coat, giving a consistent daily talking point rather than a real forecast.
Does the date update automatically every day?
Yes, if you leave the date label field blank it always shows today's actual date read from the device, or you can type your own custom label like 'Day 42 of School' if you'd rather show something other than the calendar date.
