How to play

  1. Enter each player's name, choose 501 or 301, and toggle double-in and double-out to match your house rules.
  2. On each turn, set the segment and multiplier for up to three darts, then tap Submit Turn to apply the score.
  3. Watch the checkout hint for a valid double-out finish once a player's remaining score is 170 or less.
  4. Tap Undo Last Turn to reverse any misentered turn exactly, or New Leg to reset scores and start again.

Set up your players, pick 501 or 301, and choose whether double-in or double-out is required, then enter each turn as up to three darts using the segment and multiplier selectors. The scorer subtracts every dart in real time and enforces the actual bust rule: any turn that would push a score below zero, down to exactly one, or to zero without landing on a double when double-out is on gets discarded and the score reverts to where the turn began. As you close in on a finish, a checkout hint appears showing a real double-out route for any reachable score up to 170, like T20-T20-Bull for a big finish or a simple D20 for forty. Undo reverses the last turn exactly, so a fat-fingered entry never wrecks the leg, and the board tracks legs won per player across as many rematches as you want to play.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly counts as a bust in this scorer?
A turn busts if it would take your remaining score below zero, land it on exactly one, or bring it to zero without the final dart being a double (when double-out is required). A bust discards the whole turn and restores your score to what it was before you threw.
How are the checkout suggestions calculated?
The tool builds a real one-to-three dart combination that ends on a double or bullseye for every reachable score from 2 to 170, skipping the six scores that are mathematically impossible to finish in three darts (159, 162, 163, 165, 166, and 169).
Can I turn off double-out for casual games?
Yes. Switching double-out off lets any dart that brings your score to exactly zero win the leg, and removes the exactly-one bust restriction, matching common casual or straight-out house rules.
