How to play

  1. Optionally tap Host settings to set the shortest and longest round length, then close the panel before dancing.
  2. Tap Play to start the built-in dance music and disco color wash.
  3. Dance until the music cuts out at a random, unpredictable moment and the screen flashes FREEZE!.
  4. Whoever moves after the freeze is out, then tap Play again to start the next round.

Freeze Dance Party turns any device into the DJ for a classic kids' party game. Tap Play and a built-in synthesized dance loop starts — no external audio files, so it works completely offline — while the stage washes through disco colors and an animated equalizer bounces along. Behind a gear-icon host settings panel, a grown-up sets the shortest and longest possible round length; that window stays hidden from the dance floor so no one can count down and cheat. At some genuinely random moment inside that window, the music cuts, the screen flashes, and the stage flips to a bold FREEZE! command — everyone has to lock in place, and the last one still moving is out. Tap Play again for another round with a fresh random stop time.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the music come from — do I need to connect a playlist?
No external audio at all. The music is a small synthesized dance loop generated in the browser using tones, so the game works fully offline with no accounts, downloads, or streaming connections.
Can players predict when the music will stop?
No. The stop moment is chosen at random inside the host's chosen window using a cryptographically strong random number, and the round length range lives behind a host-only settings panel that stays off the main dancing screen.
Can I stop the round early if needed?
Yes — while music is playing, the Play button changes to Stop early, letting the host end the round on demand instead of waiting for the random stop.
