How to play

  1. List your cuisine or dish options and everyone eating tonight, one per line in each box.
  2. Tap Start deciding — the first person in line taps any card to veto it out of the running.
  3. Vetoes rotate through the group automatically until everyone's used theirs or only one option survives.
  4. If more than one option survives all the vetoes, spin the wheel to pick the winner; with exactly one left, it's declared dinner immediately.

Dinner Decider ends the nightly "I don't know, what do you want" standoff in about ninety seconds. List out the cuisines or dishes your household is willing to eat, then list who's deciding tonight. Each person gets exactly one veto, tapping an option to knock it out of the running, and the tool tracks whose turn it is to veto next so nobody double-dips. Once every veto is used, or only one option survives, the tool either declares the lone survivor dinner or spins a wheel among whatever's left so the final call feels fair rather than argued over. It's built for the real chaos of a kitchen at 5:30pm — quick to set up, quick to resolve, and nobody has to be the bad guy who picked.

Frequently asked questions

What if everyone vetoes down to nothing?
That can't happen — the tool blocks the final veto that would eliminate the last remaining option, guaranteeing at least one survivor makes it to the decision.
Can someone veto twice by tapping fast?
No. Vetoes rotate strictly in the order people were listed, and a card that's already vetoed simply does nothing if tapped again, so the turn order can't be broken by rapid taps.
Do we need the wheel spin every time?
Only when more than one option survives the veto round. If the vetoes narrow it down to a single option, that option is declared dinner immediately without needing a spin.
