How it works
The What Is My IP tool displays your current public IP address — the address that websites and services on the internet see when you connect to them. It also shows the approximate geographic location associated with that IP (city, region, country), your Internet Service Provider (ISP), and your timezone.
Your public IP is assigned by your ISP and is shared by all devices on your home or office network. It is different from your private (local) IP address, which is only visible within your network. When you visit any website, that site can see your public IP; this tool simply shows you what they see.
Common reasons to check your IP include verifying that a VPN is active and hiding your real IP, troubleshooting remote access or firewall rules, confirming which country or region your connection appears to originate from, and providing your IP to a support team for allow-listing purposes.
The information is fetched from a geolocation API. Location data is approximate (usually accurate to city level) and does not reveal your street address.
