How to play

  1. Pick US Dollars or Euros from the currency tabs.
  2. Pick a pile size — Tiny, Normal, Big, or Stress — and a fresh pile appears.
  3. Add up the coins and bills in your head, then type your total and tap Check my total.
  4. Tap Reveal total any time to see the exact answer instead of guessing.

Counting Money scatters a random pile of coins and bills across the screen and challenges students to add up the total before checking their work. Choose US dollars or euros, then pick a pile size from a single coin up to a thirty-piece stress pile for advanced practice. Every denomination is tracked in exact integer cents behind the scenes, so totals are always penny-accurate — no rounding drift, ever. Type in a guess to get instant right-or-wrong feedback, or tap reveal to see the answer straight away. It resets to a fresh random pile any time you switch currency, change pile size, or tap New Pile, making it a fast warm-up or a five-minute math station.

Frequently asked questions

Does the total ever come out wrong because of rounding?
No. Every coin and bill value is tracked as whole cents internally, and money is only converted to a dollars-and-cents display at the very end, so totals are always exact — floating-point rounding never enters the calculation.
Can I practice euros instead of US currency?
Yes. The currency tabs switch the entire coin and bill set to euro cents and euro notes, including denominations like 2 euro cents and 2 euro coins that don't exist in US currency.
What does the Stress pile size do?
Stress builds a 30-piece pile instead of the default 6, which is useful for timed drills or for students who have mastered smaller totals and need a bigger mental-math challenge.
