How to use this tool

  1. Enter your hourly rate.
  2. Set hours worked per week.
  3. Set weeks worked per year (52 minus vacation weeks).
  4. See annual, monthly, and weekly gross figures.

Convert your hourly rate to an annual salary and see monthly and weekly equivalents.

Formula

Weekly gross = hourly_rate × hours_per_week

Annual salary = weekly_gross × weeks_worked_per_year

Monthly gross = annual_salary ÷ 12

How it works

This calculator scales an hourly wage up to weekly, annual, and monthly gross earnings by multiplying through hours worked per week and weeks worked per year. Allowing the user to set weeks per year (e.g. 50 instead of 52) naturally accounts for unpaid leave, public holidays, or part-year employment. All figures are pre-tax gross amounts; net take-home pay will be lower after income tax and other statutory deductions.

Worked example

Worked example

  1. Hourly rate = $25, Hours per week = 40, Weeks per year = 50
  2. Weekly gross = $25 × 40 = $1,000
  3. Annual salary = $1,000 × 50 = $50,000
  4. Monthly gross = $50,000 ÷ 12 ≈ $4,166.67

Annual salary: $50,000 | Monthly gross: $4,166.67 | Weekly gross: $1,000
