How it works
The Image Circle Crop tool cuts your image into a perfect circle and saves it as a PNG with a transparent background outside the circular boundary. The circle is inscribed within the shorter dimension of the image -- if your image is not square, the top and bottom or left and right will be trimmed to create the largest possible circle.
Upload any image, preview the circle crop, and click Download to save the transparent-background PNG. The resulting file works anywhere PNG transparency is supported, including HTML img tags, CSS backgrounds, and design applications. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Circle-cropped images are widely used for profile photos on social media platforms, team member portraits on websites, round avatar icons in messaging apps, and decorative elements in presentations. Uploading a square image before cropping ensures no part of the subject is unintentionally cut off.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Uploading a non-square image without pre-cropping, causing the subject to be cut off on the longer sides.
- Converting the downloaded PNG to JPEG, which replaces transparent areas with a white background.
- Not checking that the subject's face or focal point is centered in the original image before cropping.
